Kate was sighted on location for the film ‘Leavey’ in LaGrange, Georgia, on June 9. She appeared to be running through lines with her castmates and trying to escape from the sun by holding a huge umbrella over her head. The biopic tells the story of Megan Leavey, the hero Marine corporal and her combat dog Max, a German Shepherd, and it is directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite. A release date hasn’t been set yet.

Kate Mara stars in the film as a woman sent to check out a remote location where a rapidly developing, synthetic girl named Morgan may start to pose a danger to the scientists who created her. The title character is played by Anya Taylor-Joy, the breakout young star from this year’s acclaimed indie horror film The Witch.
The teaser offers the first cryptic look at the titular character, a seemingly innocent “human” who is in fact quite threatening. Morgan is dangerous enough to be enclosed and confined so that a corporate troubleshooter and consultant, played by Mara, can help investigate what looks like a bloody and terrifying accident.
Written by Seth W. Owen and directed by Scott’s son, Luke Scott, the film centers on the difficult decision of whether or not to eliminate this artificial being. Morgan is a teenager, but her capacities exceed most normal humans, and she’s evolving rapidly.
“Morgan” also stars Rose Leslie, Paul Giamatti, Toby Jones and Boyd Holbrook and it hits theaters on September 2.
In a recent interview with Shadrach Kabango at CBC Radio, Ellen Page revealed that Mercy will be start filming in September. Last year during Toronto Festival, Kate also revealed that she and Ellen would be producing and starring a film together.
It’s probably too early to talk about but we’re going to star in something that we’re producing together. We’re good friends but we also really want to work together as actors so hopefully that will happen soon.
Ellen revealed to Screendaily last year that this project is a gay love story, and she would produce it alongside Killer Films’ Christine Vachon. Kate will also star.
