Our gallery was updated with some new promotional stills of “Man Down”, which trailer was recently released. Directed by Dito Montiel, the film stars Shia LaBeouf, Jai Courtney, Gary Oldman, Kate Mara, Charlie Shotwell, and Clifton Collins Jr.
When U.S. Marine Gabriel Drummer (Shia LaBeouf) returns home from his tour in Afghanistan, he finds that the place he once called home is no better than the battlefields he fought on overseas. Accompanied by his best friend Devin Roberts (Jai Courtney), a hardnosed Marine whose natural instinct is to shoot first and ask questions later, he searches desperately for the whereabouts of his estranged son, Johnathan (Charlie Shotwell), and wife, Natalie (Kate Mara). In their search, the two intercept Charles (Clifton Collins Jr.), a man carrying vital information about the whereabouts of Gabriel’s family. As we revisit the past, we are guided in unraveling the puzzle of Gabriel’s experience and what will eventually lead us to finding his family. The psychological suspense thriller MAN DOWN also stars Gary Oldman.
Shia LaBeouf last played a free spirit in the critically acclaimed American Honey, but the actor’s going in the opposite direction for his next project: In Man Down, he portrays a U.S. Marine named Gabriel who returns home from war to find a chaotic America — and his wife (Kate Mara) and son (Charlie Shotwell) missing.
Gabriel revisits his traumatic past in a new trailer for the film, which also stars Jai Courtney, Gary Oldman, and Clifton Collins Jr. Man Down arrives in theaters Dec. 2. Watch the trailer:
On current Elle magazine issue there’s an interview with Julien Dossena, the artistic director of Paco Rabanne, featuring a pretty new picture with Kate Mara. He’s talking about the new Paco Rabanne line, more metallic, minimalist, boyish.
He remembers Kate calling him requesting a dress for using on Met Ball. We have added scans in our gallery.
For this year’s Met Ball, actress Kate Mara requested a custom version of the sheer minidress made of smoky plastic disks from Dossena’s fall 2015 collection. “She is that kind of woman I love, with an efortless and boyish elegance,” Dossena says of the actress, who follows her turn in House of Cards with a clutch of films Morgan, Megan Leavey, and Chappaquiddick. The Met Ball fitting took place via Skype, while Dossena was on his iPhone at a bar, which seems apropos given both his wired-up MO and the inherent futurism of Paco Rabanne. Mara loved the functionality of her bespoke outfit. “Usually, you’re in some sort of a gown that’s hard to move in,” she says. “But this was very soft and light.”
Kate attended the Refinery29’s second annual New York Fashion Week event on Thursday. It is the second year of the party, held on Brooklyn, and she stepped out in an orange and white striped top with a floral mini skirt and a structured blue purse. The gallery was updated with 29 images of her posing at the event.
Back in June Ellen page did an interview about Mercy, a project she and Kate would be doing together. More information about it started to be released this week.
Per Variety, “Page is portraying Lucy, the daughter of a man on death row falling in love with Mara’s Mercy character, a woman on the opposing side of her family’s political cause. As a result, Lucy’s value for truth is tested as her world begins to unravel.”
Tali Shalom Ezer, who previously directed the Sundance drama “Princess,” will direct the film from a script by Joe Barton. The film will be produced by Christine Vachon and David Hinojosa for Killer Films, along with Page and Mara.
“Mercy” is set to start shooting in Cincinnati next month.
